You Understand How Word Groups Change Meanings.

There are two kind of word groups: PRASES and CLAUSES.

LESSON 6

Read the following PRASES and CLAUSES without pausing.

PHRASES         CLAUSES
without singing         when I sing
in the window         when is it in the window
at first         who was first
in the green grass         where in the green grass
through the house         while in the house
to the flag         when the flag flies

  9. WHILE I WAS IN THE HOUSE, I painted the walls blue. WHEN did I paint the walls blue? While I was in the house
