She taught us to kneel and to say the Lord's Prayer. She told us to be truthful and not to steal, and always try to obey our masters.

I heard her groan and say, "Oh Lord, how long? Oh Lord, how long?" I asked her, Mau-mau what is troubling you?" Oh my child, there is a great deal troubling me," she answered.

She then pointed to the stars in the sky and told us: "Those are the same stars and moon that look down on your brothers and sisters. They are the same ones that they see when they look up at the sky. Even though they are far apart from each other and from us."

These are precious memories and lessons that I will always cherish.
